This course is designed for anyone who wants to find out what yoga is all about. It is perfect for anyone who wants to try yoga and is still finding the courage to step into that first class. If is also ideal for anyone who has just begun taking classes but would like to understand a bit more about all aspects of yoga and to break down the postures a bit more. In addition to working with the postures, there will be an introduction to breathing practices and meditation as well as an introduction to yoga philosophy so you can have a full understanding of what is meant by 'yoga'. Each session will also include time for questions.

By the end of the course you will have developed the confidence to attend a group class and take the next step on your yoga journey.

The course will be limited to 10 people to allow everyone to have individual attention.

We are very blessed to have Dr Mario Marrone at the centre for this workshop, he is an eminent writer and psychotherapist

This will be an experiential workshop aiming at exploring the way our early relationships in our families (particularly with our parents) have influenced our adult life and expectations of future relationships.

We will start the workshop introducing ourselves: who we are and what brought us here. Then we will break the ice by using some warming-up techniques. We will then divide ourselves in pairs, randomly chosen, and in this context explore memories of our childhood. In the afternoon we will gather as a whole group and use role-playing to enact past scenes that some group members have remembered and explore how some of these scenes may be unconsciously re-enacted in our present relationships. At the end of the day we spend some time grounding our energy so that we can leave feeling relaxed and settled and aware that we have learnt something meaningful about ourselves and others.

Yin yoga is a way of working our deep tissues and keeping our joints healthy. It is also a deeply meditative practice as the poses are each held for a few minutes fully supported by props to take away any strain.

This can be a challenging form of yoga as it can be a struggle to still our body and mind but once this challenge is overcome, there is a wonderful feeling of stillness and peace. The practice allows us to connect with our bodies, being aware of tightness and limitations so that we can work with them rather than against them. It is also a fantastic opportunity for self reflection.

Yoga Nidra has the potential to completely relax the body and takes our mind to the same state as when we are in a deep dreamless sleep but still with a level of awareness. As well as a form of complete rest for the body and mind, it is also a deeply spiritual practice.

The workshop will begin with pranayama (breathing practices) to start stilling the mind and settling the body. We will then come into our yin yoga practice allowing time to find the variation of each posture that works best for each of us. Towards the end of the session, we will use yoga nidra to fully absorb our yoga practice by relaxing the body and mind fully. Finally we will ground ourselves using all of our senses in preparation for going back into our everyday lives while still maintaining a feeling of calm.

Ananta grew up in London and left England aged 19, with the strong desire to live as a Free Being. This first expressed itself through travel and lead her to Asia in 1989 where she lived until returning to the UK in 2017.

Searching to find the Truth of herself, Her heart was was deeply called to a Master and she found her way to the Osho commune in Pune, India where she explored meditation, Tantra and Self Awareness groups for more than 10 years. As well as working with people for several years in the healing fields including various forms of bodywork, assisting others through trauma in a meditative way.

In 1994, she entered a two and half year period of silence in a Zen style retreat in Japan (otherwise known as a Japanese prison). It was during this retreat where True Freedom was realized.

In the face of extremely limiting conditions...
She realized herSelf As THAT which has Always been Free, Full and Enough unto ItSelf!

The Peace that is the ground of all experience.
The Love that does not need an experience of Love. The happiness that is our True Nature without needing an experience of happiness… revealed ItSelf to ItSelf.
