My own yoga journey evolved over this time from one where I pushed my body towards a ‘goal’, i.e. to get into the shape being demonstrated - to one that allows the ‘shape’ or asana, in yogic terms, to be a framework that adapts to my body and allows me to unfold from the inside, listening and feeling and gradually finding connections. It is a much slower, meditative process.
In this class it is self-enquiry through breath and asana that I aspire to teach, through:
Pranayama (yogic breathing).
Mainly a vinyasa flow (movement in synchronicity with breath,) however there may be moments when we stop and spend time with one particular asana.
An exploration of individual range of motion.
Feeling the balance within our bodies and promoting an awareness and ease of movement.
Savasana, - relaxation.
The ‘goal‘ of these sessions is to become informed about movement, feel energised, relaxed and be in touch with our inner stillness.
